ICC YAF: The psychology of decision-making in international arbitration

Warsaw, Poland, • English

Join us for this ICC YAF Conference on the psychology of decision making in international arbitration, where we will discuss the ways in which decisions – of parties, counsel and arbitrators – are made and influenced.

This Conference will open with a keynote presentation by Dr. Ula Cartwright-Finch, who is an international arbitration specialist with a PhD in Cognitive Psychology, and a thought leader in legal psychology. A panel discussion will follow addressing questions such as what factors influence arbitrators’ decisions, how does diversity within a group impact its performance, and how reliable is a witness’ memory.

This ICC YAF Conference will take place after the 2019 Conference on Dispute Resolution in M&A Transactions, a two-day conference focusing on the recent developments in M&A arbitrations and the different perspectives of in-house counsels, lawyers and arbitrators.

Who should attend?

This Conference is aimed at young arbitration practitioners of approximately 40 years and under: counsel, arbitrators, corporate counsel and academics. The ICC YAF Conference is an ideal forum for young practitioners to exchange thoughts on hot topics in international arbitration, and to enrich their network in the region.
