ICC YAF: Caribbean Series (Barbados)

Bridgetown, Barbados, • English

The ICC Young Arbitrators Forum (YAF) is organizing, with Dentons and Guglielmino & Asociados, the second event of the ICC YAF: Caribbean Series, to be held in Bridgetown Barbados on 2 September.

The ICC YAF Caribbean series is a set of events held throughout the Caribbean region that contribute to growing regional dialogue on the usefulness of international commercial arbitration.

The YAF Caribbean Series: Barbados is the second event in YAF’s series of educational conferences and workshops on contemporary arbitration issues. The last event was held in Nassau, Bahamas and law students, practitioners, politicians and judges were in attendance. There are two major themes for this year’s Barbados workshop:

1) Entrepreneurship and Commercial Arbitration . This workshop will explore the relationship between starting a business or firm and the uses of international commercial arbitration.

2) Barbados Entities as Vehicles for Investment Disputes . This workshop will focus on the legal nature of trusts and other investment vehicles in Barbados and the region and when those vehicles can be used in an international arbitration context.
