9th ICC YAF-YAAP Joint Conference: Young approaches to arbitration

ICC YAF and YAAP, with the support of ICC Austria, are organizing their joint annual conference, hosted in the Juridicum, on 8 April 2017, during the Vis Moot. This joint conference is kindly sponsored by KNOETZL, Konrad & Partners, Binder Grösswang and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

Description

The Young Austrian Arbitration Practitioners (YAAP) and the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum (ICC YAF) are organizing their 9th joint annual conference to take place during the moot competition in Vienna.

Who should attend?

This conference is aimed at young arbitration practitioners of approximately 40 years and under: counsel, arbitrators, corporate counsel or academics. The ICC YAF Conference will be an ideal forum for young practitioners to exchange thoughts on international arbitration, and to enrich their network in the region.

Call for ideas

Submission Deadline: Sunday 26 March 2017

The ICC Young Arbitrators Forum is pleased to distribute this call for previously unpublished submissions exploring current, novel ideas on international arbitration.

All submissions meeting the criteria set forth below will be considered in an anonymous review process for the author’s participation as speaker during the upcoming ICC YAF-YAAP conference “Young approaches to arbitration” to be held in Vienna, Austria, on Saturday, 8 April 2017, on occasion of the 24th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

Eligible Contributors:

Arbitration practitioners and students under the age of 40.

Submission: Form and Content Requirements:

Length: Between 2,000 and 4,000 characters, including spaces.

Topic: Any area of the law and practice of international commercial arbitration.

Language: English.

Form: .doc/.docx-file, all personal information discarded.

Abstract & CV: Authors shall include a brief abstract, not exceeding 200 words, and a CV.

 

Anonymous Review Process:

Following the submission deadline, various members of the ICC Secretariat, the ICC case teams and the ICC YAF Regional Coordinators’ Committees will review submissions on an anonymous basis for their scientific value and select the best, novel ideas.

Submission:

Submissions and any questions regarding this call for papers shall be sent, by no later than Sunday 26 March 2017, to iccyaf@iccwbo.org.

Publication of Results:

The ICC YAF will inform authors whether their contribution has been selected. Selected authors will then be invited to prepare a brief presentation on the topic of their submission, to be held at the ICC YAF-YAAP conference in Vienna on Saturday, 8 April 2017.
