ICC YAF: 26th Vis Moot problem: an arbitrator’s perspective

This Arbitrator Roundtable brings together practitioners and academics to engage in a lively discussion about this year’s Vis Moot Problem and in a lead scholarly debate on current issues in the practice of international dispute settlement respectively.


ICC YAF is hosting the Arbitrator Roundtable as part of the 9th Annual Middle East Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Pre-Moot that will take place in Manama, Bahrain from 7 to 9 March 2019.

The Arbitrator Roundtable is held in coordination with the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), The Royal University for Women (RUW), the University of Pittsburgh Center for International Legal Education (CILE), MENA Chambers Bahrain, The Bahrain Center for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) and the UNCITRAL.

As attendee of the Arbitrator Roundtable, you gain complimentary access to all the activities and events that will take place during the Middle East Pre-Moot at RUW, notably:

  • The Arbitrator Research Symposium which will address the Singapore Convention on Mediation as well as selected contemporary issues in arbitration on 7 March 2019 (2:30-5:30 pm);
  •  The General Rounds of the Pre-Moot Competition conducted on 8 & 9 March 2019 at RUW where you can gain experience by serving as arbitrator; and
  • The Middle East Pre Moot Awards Ceremony on the evening of 9 March 2019.
