2nd ICC KLRCA Pre-Moot

On behalf of the KLRCA and the ICC, we are delighted to invite you to participate in the 2nd ICC-KLRCA Pre-Moot for The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, following a hugely successful inaugural 2017 edition.

Description

The event will be held at the state-of-the-art facilities of the KLRCA on 2- 4March, 2018, and will once again bring together established arbitration practitioners, academics and students from different corners the world.

The event will enable teams to:

  1. measure up against and interact with other students from several countries and legal systems;
  2. receive comments from and socialize with arbitrators from different professional, cultural and legal backgrounds;
  3. practice and improve their advocacy skills;
  4. refine and adjust their oral arguments just before making the trip to Vienna or Hong Kong.

Format

Teams will be paired against other teams before a variety of panels in 1.5-hour rounds (1 hour of pleadings, 5 minutes of deliberation, 15 minutes of feedback). Experienced arbitrators from the legal community around the world will provide students with comprehensive and constructive feedback after each hearing.

Programme

A detailed programme for the ICC KLRCA Vis pre-moot with all relevant information will be sent to the selected teams in at the beginning of 2018.

To register as a team or arbitrator, please complete the relevant registration form.

Founding

Financial assistance to cover the accommodation costs of team members may be obtained for registered teams from outside of Kuala Lumpur.

A limited number of stipends is available upon request. Teams may select either Option A or Option B below no later than 31st January 2018. Please see details.
