2018 ICC Vis pre-moot

Paris, France, • English

The ICC Vis Pre-moot is a training opportunity open to teams competing in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

The ICC Vis pre-moot will consist of oral hearing rounds on the 16 and 17 March, as well as several social events.

The event will enable teams to:

  1. measure up against and interact with other students from several countries and legal systems;
  2. receive comments from and socialize with arbitrators from different professional, cultural and legal backgrounds;
  3. practice and improve their advocacy skills; refine and adjust their oral arguments just before making the trip to Vienna.

Teams will be paired against other teams before a variety of panels in 1.5-hour rounds (1 hour of pleadings, 5 minutes of deliberation, 15 minutes of feedback, and a 10-minute break where coffee and tea will be offered to all participants). Experienced arbitrators from the legal community around the world will provide students with comprehensive and constructive feedback after each hearing.

A detailed programme for the ICC Vis pre-moot with all relevant information will be sent to the selected teams in at the beginning of 2018.
