10th ICC YAF-YAAP Joint Conference Young approaches to arbitration

The conference is organized on the occasion of the Vienna Willem C. Vis Moot.


The ICC YAF/YAAP Conference will be an ideal forum for young practitioners to exchange thoughts on international arbitration, share their experiences and enrich and expand their network. This conference aims to connect young arbitration practitioners of approximately 40 years and under: counsel, arbitrators, corporate counsel and academics.

Call for ideas

Submission Deadline: Friday 9 March 2018

The ICC Young Arbitrators Forum is calling for previously unpublished articles exploring innovating ideas on international arbitration.

All submissions meeting the criteria set forth below will be considered in an anonymous review process for the author’s participation as speaker during the upcoming ICC YAF-YAAP conference “Young approaches to arbitration”.

Eligible Contributors:

Arbitration practitioners and students under the age of 40.


Submission: Form and Content Requirements:

Length: Between 2,000 and 4,000 characters, including spaces.

Topic: Any area of the law and practice of international commercial arbitration.

Language: English.

Form: .doc/.docx-file, all personal information discarded.

Abstract & CV: Authors shall include a brief abstract, not exceeding 200 words, and a CV.



Anonymous Review Process:

Following the submission deadline, various members of the ICC Secretariat, the ICC case teams and the ICC YAF Regional Coordinators’ Committees will review submissions on an anonymous basis for their scientific value and select the best, novel ideas.


Submissions and any questions regarding this call for papers shall be sent, by no later than Monday 5 March 2018, to iccyaf@iccwbo.org.

Publication of Results:

The ICC YAF will inform those authors whose contributions have been selected and invite them to prepare a brief presentation on the topic of their submission, to be held at the ICC YAF-YAAP conference in Vienna on Saturday 24 March 2018.
