Global Communications Officer

We are seeking a full-time Global Communications Officer to tell the stories of how our global institution is enabling business to secure peace, prosperity and opportunity for all.

Through a unique mix of advocacy, solutions and standard setting, we promote international trade, responsible business conduct and a global approach to regulation, in addition to providing market-leading dispute resolution services. Our members include many of the world’s leading companies, SMEs, business associations and local chambers of
commerce.

The role

We are seeking a full-time Global Communications Officer to tell the stories of how our global institution is enabling business to secure peace, prosperity and opportunity for all.

Based in Paris, with opportunities to work remotely, the Global Communications Officer will manage the day-to-day development and execution of global communications campaigns to strengthen ICC’s global reputation as the world’s most credible and most connected business organisation.

Reporting directly to ICC’s Head of Global Communications, the Global Communications Officer will work as part of a small but dynamic international team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create communications plans to support ICC campaign, product and service roll outs and work with ICC’s Global Policy department to ensure high visibility and impact at major intergovernmental summits and conferences.
  • Craft key messages targeted to ICC’s wide range of global stakeholders and partners, including business, government and chamber of commerce representatives.
  • Develop high-quality content to meet global communications objectives. Materials include but are not limited to press releases, talking points, video scripts, blog and news articles.
  • Collaborate with creative, marketing and social media team members to develop communications assets.
  • Identify communication opportunities in line with the ICC’s mission and strategic
    framework.
  • Undertake media relations activities to maintain relationships with journalists and reporters to position ICC as the go to institution for comment on behalf of global business and the real economy.
  • Create buy-in and engagement for communications campaigns through strong collaboration with ICC’s network of representatives and staff worldwide.
  • Monitor impact and regularly report back on the impact of outreach activities.

Our ideal candidate

  • Our ideal candidate will share our values and care about the work we undertake to make business work for people and planet.
  • Educated to degree level, you will have at least three-years of experience in a communications role.
  • We’re looking for someone highly organised who excels in time management and working across multiple projects at any given time.
  • You will have impeccable writing and editing skills and because our outputs are primarily in English, we’re seeking a native English speaker or someone who is fluent. You will also have an ability to communicate in French at intermediary level or above.
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills are central to this role. We’re looking for someone who can take complex issues relating to global affairs, governance and business and turn them into compelling content that speaks to our diverse audiences and online community.
  • Creativity is key to keeping audiences engaged. We’re looking for someone who keeps pace with the latest developments in communications and who is willing to try pioneering and creative ways to reach and engage our audiences.
  • In the digital age, we also need you to be familiar with the tools to perform efficiently.
