Event Assistant for the 18th ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition (CDD – 6 months)

The ICC Global Event team is currently looking for an Event Assistant who will provide hands-on support with the organisation and management of the 18th ICC Mediation Competition which will take place in February 2023. They will report directly to the Project Manager in the ICC Global Events team.

The ICC Mediation Competition – part of ICC Mediation Week (#ICCMW) – is ICC’s largest educational event of the year. It is the biggest international moot worldwide dedicated exclusively to international commercial mediation and brings together 500+ participants including professional mediators, academics and students. The Competition offers 100+ mock mediation sessions, training sessions, a Professional Roundtable and numerous social events across seven days.                             

The ICC Global Event team is currently looking for an Event Assistant who will provide hands-on support with the organisation and management of the 18th ICC Mediation Competition which will take place in February 2023. They will report directly to the Project Manager in the ICC Global Events team. 

 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate administrative, logistical and financial tasks related to the organisation and implementation of the competition 
  • Liaise with student teams, university professors and high-level professionals 
  • Support the project manager in ensuring the adherence to the rules and timeline of the mediation competition 
  • Liaise with sponsors 
  • The Event Assistant will not work on case management 

 The Event Assistant will support the organisation of ICC’s largest educational event. They will benefit from a practical experience in a global organisation and a truly international environment. They will be in contact with the leading professionals in ADR and also with representatives of companies, law firms, consultancy firms and business schools leading in the field of ADR.  

Requirements 

  • proven experience in organising complex or large-scale events or projects 
  • ability to work under high pressure  
  • excellent management of priorities 
  • proactivity and problem-solving skills 
  • excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)  
  • customer service skills 
  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
  • demonstrated attention to details  
  • enthusiasm and knowledge of mediation and other forms of ADR  
  • native English speaker or equivalent 
  • advanced computer skills (MS suite and excel) 
  • excellent communication skills 

Terms and conditions  

Start date: as soon as possible

Contract type and duration: 6 months 

Remuneration: According to experience
