Deputy Director of Trade Platforms – Singapore

The ICC launched the Digital Standards initiative (DSI) in 2020. The DSI is headed in Singapore is looking for a Deputy Director of Trade Platforms.

The ICC launched the Digital Standards initiative (DSI) in 2020. The DSI is headed in Singapore and will be expanding to accelerate the enablement of trade digitization. The DSI will focus on:

  • Unifying digital standards efforts across alliances
  • Champion legislative reforms to enable digital trade
  • Establishing interoperable rulebooks
  • Creating cross-industry harmonization of standards
  • Facilitating harmonized industry-specific standards as needed
  • Establish digital platform integration standards

The successful candidate will be passionate about leading the charge in enabling trade digitalization across all the world’s various regions and industries—a Self-starter who is focused on achieving results through collaboration and an agile engagement approach.

Position duties: 

  • Lead the development of a sustainable global trade technology standards overview (Product). Provide insight into standards production through various ecosystems required digitization, the organizations working on setting the standards, and the progress to
  • Lead the development of annual work plans in consultation with the ICC DSI Managing Director, other ICC departments, and Strategic partners. The focus of the work plans will be on creating standards required to enable interoperability between trade
  • Operationalize working groups to drive consensus among various component parts in the trade ecosystem, including shippers, bankers, freight forwarders, commodities, and port
  • Develop draft positions on standards and produce any supporting collateral needed by working group
  • Ensure an open and transparent process is followed with active engagement from various ecosystem

Education and experience: 

  • Ten years of relevant experience in commercial, improvement and/or technology functions
  • Fluent in English, additional languages
  • Experience with trade processes and digitization enablers
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities
  • Proven ability to drive consensus among a diverse group of international stakeholders;
  • Project management experience with a proven track record of delivering outcomes on time, within budget, and at the desired quality
