Deputy Director – Arbitration and ADR – South Asia

ICC Dispute Resolution Services invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Director, Arbitration and ADR, South Asia, based at ICC Asia in Singapore.

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) offers a wide array of dispute resolution services specifically intended for international commerce and cross-border transactions. Our flagship service is ICC arbitration, which carries the hallmark of the ICC International Court of Arbitration (ICC Court): a world leader in resolving international commercial disputes. Since its creation in 1923, the Court has administered more than 26,000 cases from across the world. The ICC International Centre for ADR (ADR Centre) provides complementary services, including mediation and other forms of amicable dispute settlement, expert appraisal (including a service specifically for trade finance disputes) and dispute boards.

ICC Dispute Resolution Services invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Director, Arbitration and ADR, South Asia, based at ICC Asia in Singapore.


Reporting to the Director, Arbitration and ADR, South Asia, you will:

  • Respond to queries from local users regarding arbitration and other dispute resolution services pertaining to application of ICC rules
  • Work together with ICC National Committees in the region to develop awareness, knowledge and use of ICC arbitration and other dispute resolution services
  • Understand and report the local users’ needs in terms of arbitration and alternative dispute resolution services
  • Organize and participate in conferences and events, meetings, training sessions and Young Arbitrators Forum (YAF) events
  • Deliver presentations to key players in the legal and business community (including government representatives, in-house counsels and lawyers)
  • Draft marketing materials, make power point presentations, sponsorship brochures, flyers and coordinate the budget for ICC’s arbitration events in the region
  • Prepare articles, correspondence and other material to promote ICC Dispute Resolution Services
  • Undertake research on latest developments in arbitration and prepare statistical reports with focus on South Asia
  • Build and maintain social media presence in South Asia.


  • Degree in law with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with knowledge of dispute resolution, particularly international arbitration
  • Appetite for business development, ideally supported by some experience in marketing/sales
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proficiency in written as well as spoken English. Fluency in other languages widely spoken in South Asia would also be desirable.
  • Be well-organized and proactive, able to work autonomously
  • Able to travel
  • Proficient in MS Office programmes
  • Ability to use social media for an effective communication.
