Global Trade Finance Survey Report

 

  • Following the November meeting of the WTO Expert Group on Trade and Finance, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has undertaken a survey of major international trade finance banks to examine the impact of Basel II on the pricing and availability of trade credit.

  • Pursuant to the March 2009 Global Trade Finance Survey, the ICC Banking Commission undertook a follow-up Interim Survey, covering the period of January-June 2009 and based on information provided by a selected and limited sample of financial institutions, all members of the ICC Banking Commission. This survey, released in September 2009, was developed to ensure consistency of analysis among various ICC trade finance surveys and, more importantly, ensure adequate industry and geographical coverage.
