First meeting in 2008

The Commission held its first semi-annual meeting in Paris, on 24 April 2008 . Guy Sebban, Secretary General of ICC gave a report on the recent activities of ICC. His presentation was followed by the intervention of Pierre Tercier, Chairman of the Court, who explained the reasons for his resignation. Peter Wolrich, the Chair of the Commission, drew up the selection process of Pierre Tercier’s successor and introduced the new members of the Steering Committee of the Commission.

The Task Force on Trusts and Arbitration submitted a final report for approval and the Task Force on Amiable Composition and ex aequo et bono submitted a report for discussion.

Mr Sorieul, Principal Legal Officer of UNCITRAL was invited to present the work done by UNCITRAL on the New York Convention on Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Awards.

The creation of a new Task Force on “Production of Electronic Documents in Arbitration” was announced by the Co-Chairs of the Commission.

The next meeting of the Commission, on 12 October 2008, will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
