ICC’s privacy statement

ICC is the sole owner of the information it gathers on its site. ICC will only share your information with outside parties in ways that are described in this privacy statement or if we are required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary in order to conform to the edicts of the law, cooperate with law enforcement agencies, or comply with a legal process served on our web site.

What information is collected and how it is used?

ICC news alert service
We collect contact information such as name and email address. This information is used to generate a newsletter for you each time the ICC website is updated with news. The information requested will solely be used for ICC's own purposes.



Contact us
We use email links located on the "contact us" page and other areas of the site to allow you to contact us directly with any questions or comments you may have. We read every message sent in and try to reply promptly to every one. This information is used to respond directly to your questions or comments. We may use your comments to improve the site and program, and we may either keep your comments on file or review and discard them. This information is shared with third parties only with your explicit permission.
ICC business bookstore
When you enter the Bookstore you are asked for information about where you live. We need this information in order to see which ICC national committee our customers belong to. This information is saved as a "session", which means that once you leave the ICC bookstore the information is automatically deleted.



However, if you choose to make a purchase in the Bookstore, we will request personal information such as: name, address, telephone number, credit card number and shipping information. We will use it only to contact you in connection with your order.




ICC business bookstore mailinglist
We collect contact information such as name and email address. This information is used to generate a brief note to you when the ICC Business Bookstore has new products. The information requested will solely be used for ICC's own purposes.



 
Logged files
The ICC web site logs IP addresses and browser types for systems administration purposes. These logs will be analyzed to improve the value of the materials available on the website. A user’s session will be tracked, but the user will be anonymous. We do not link IP addresses to any personally identifiable information.



Cookies and session cookies
Cookies are used only for the purposes of enhancing security and navigation through the site. The cookies do not collect personally identifable information, are not associated with personal information either at the time of placement or subsequently thereafter and do not persist beyond the session.

Choices regarding the use of your information

How to unsubscribe from the ICC news alert service
To unsubscribe from receiving the ICC news alert, an unsubscribe link appears at the end of each email and when you click on it you will be transfered to a page where you can cancel your subscription.







How to access and update your information
Reasonable access to personally identifiable information about you will be provided within 30 days at no cost to you. If access cannot be provided within that timeframe, ICC will give you a date when the information will be provided. If for some reason access is denied, ICC will provide an explanation as to why access has been denied.

Security

Protecting your privacy and your information is a priority at ICC. We have taken careful measures to prevent the loss, misuse, and alteration of your information. Once we receive your information and it has been entered on our web site, it is stored behind a firewall. All ICC employees are aware of our privacy and security policies. Your information is only accessible to those employees who need it in order to perform their jobs.

Third party services

We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, including webhosting and mailing. We will only provide those companies with the information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

Notification of changes

If we are going to use your personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection through this web site, we will notify you via email. You will have a choice as to whether or not we use your information in this different manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already collected through our site, we will post a prominent notice on our web site notifying users of the change.
