Sold-out seats at business-focused ICC/ABA mediation conference
ICC and the American Bar Association (ABA) Sections of International Law and Dispute Resolution held a one-day conference, entitled “Managing Risks and Getting Results: How to Use Mediation Effectively in International Business Disputes” at ICC in Paris, France on 11 February 2010. The sold-out conference drew a large audience of almost 100 corporate in-house counsel, lawyers, mediators and business executives representing about 25 countries and spanning 5 continents. |

Nottingham Trent University of UK wins mediation competition
Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom won the first prize in the 5th ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition hosted by ICC, with the University of New South Wales in Australia taking second place. Osgoode Hall School of Law in Canada came in third. |

Mediation is more and more attractive
Mediation is a technique to settle disputes which is used more and more in international business and accordingly, needs for information also increased in the past years. In addition to its International Commercial Mediation Competiton, ICC ADR offers conferences. The next one will be held on 11 February 2010. At a national level, CMAP, a separate institution of ICC, proposes its 2nd mediation competition, which will be held in French, and thus is addressed to french speaking countries, on 17-18 March 2010. |

Merits of mediation in the spotlight at ICC conference
